Taking down the cig industry was their way of taking out the Reynolds Family- one of the 13 fams (RJ Reynolds). They made an industry out of treating you for illness they attributed to cigs, but that's not what the illness really was. Then they get to call it a 'sin' and dump 'sin tax' on them for moar profit.
Double benefit of targeting smokers, dividing them from the rest of society and promoting the shunning of them. Sound familiar? Just another tactic on a sub-set of society based on nothing but lies.
