Forgive the slide but I remember reading a summery about 8 years ago when things didn't disappear from the internet …that around 1964/65 there was a G4 summit discussing the outcomes of possible scapegoats by their paid for scientific communities to be used if the prolific nuclear testing since the Trinity test WAS causing cancer rates to rise. The scientific community came up with diesel and cigarettes. The US said no way to diesel. The Think Tanks chose cigarettes as they also had the added advantage of causing social division right down to the family unit. Never been able to find that article again and I've tried hard looking for it.
