How can we solve the problem of a free and fair news/press when almost all news organizations rely on traffic, which corresponds to advertising revenue.
Since the demise of print media, where profits from advertising funded real newsrooms, and editors who for the most part cared about being influence free and independent, fake news has grown exponentially.
How can we have a free and fair news source when they are totally dependent on views, any views, and the more shocking or scandalous the news the more visits/views/income?
Shareholders demand profits, always increasing profits, and editors are forced to focus on stories that will generate money.

Government regulated or funded news? How can this be independent of the governments?
Industry Regulated news? How can this remain independent?
If a news source totally rejects or ditches all indifference to advertisers and goes to a highest bidding system, do they accept news from ALL advertisers (a free bidding system)?
