There is a possible connection. A tantalizing hint was dropped in the DoE Supercomputers Deep Dig >>328278 about a bug fix to some code that was involved in load-balancing or mirroring across the 7 DoE supercomputers, something about code written by Snowden... It was circumstantial but worthy of further digging. There were a LOT of hints about Red October and data that was possibly filched from U.S. top security installations, but just a few hints about Snowden.
