Everything has a beginning. Pinkerton has a lot of public history in the 19th to the early 20th century. President Lincoln hired them as security. Grew substantial in power during train/bank robberies. Eventually escaped public eye after gaining bad press for opening fire and killed workers on strike in the early 20th century. They operate World Wide, and were acquired by Securitas in 1999. Here are some additional info on Pinkerton/Securitas.
