5 Members of Mexican Sex Trafficking Organization Jailed

Five members of the notorious international criminal organization known as the Rendon-Reyes Trafficking Organization were sentenced to prison last week—their sentences each ranged from 15 to 25 years.

The men, all from Mexico, with some residing illegally in the United States, previously pleaded guilty to racketeering, sex trafficking, and other federal charges, according to the Department of Justice (DOJ). They were apprehended in both Mexico and the United States.

The organization, based in Tenancingo, in Tlaxcala State, Mexico, smuggled young girls into the United States where they were forced to engage in prostitution. The organization earned thousands of dollars in profit from the women. They then laundered the proceeds back to Mexico.

President Donald Trump told reporters on Jan. 6 that drugs, victims of human trafficking, criminals, and gang members are continuing to cross the border onto U.S. soil. He has not backed down from his demand for $5.6 billion in funding for the border wall to be included in the next budget.

“These sentencings are the latest chapter in this Office’s long-term commitment to eradicate human trafficking and all forms of modern-day slavery,” said United States Attorney Richard Donoghue. “The crimes committed by the members of the Rendon-Reyes Trafficking Organization were brutal and shocking, and I hope that the sentences give the victims in this case some sense of justice.”

The Defendants include Jovan Rendon-Reyes, 32, sentenced to 20 years in prison; Saul Rendon-Reyes, 41, to 15 years in prison; Felix Rojas, 48, to 25 years in prison; Odilon Martinez-Rojas, 47, to more than 24 years in prison; and Severiano Martinez-Rojas, 53, to more than 24 years in prison.

Between December 2004 and November 2015, members of the organization, including the defendants, forced young women and girls, some as young as 14 years old, to engage in “countless commercial sex acts” in both the United States and Mexico, according to court documents. Three other defendants are set to be sentenced on Jan. 15.

The organization targeted vulnerable women and girls from poor areas of Mexico and Central America. Members of the organization lured the victims into fraudulent romantic relationships with promises of love and marriage. Sometimes they abducted the victims and, in one case, a victims child.

The girls were forced into prostitution with methods including severe and repeated beatings, sexual assaults, forced abortions, threats to the victims, their families and their children, and psychological harm. Victims were forced to perform up to 45 sex acts a night.

“Crisis” of Seriously Ill Migrants Slams Border Patrol — TB, Pneumonia, Influenza, Parasites

Weeks after mainstream media outlets reported that illegal immigrants don’t bring disease into the United States, the Border Patrol reveals that it is getting slammed daily with dozens of illegal immigrants carrying “serious illnesses.” This includes tuberculosis, influenza and pneumonia. In fact, a Guatemalan migrant who died in U.S. custody on Christmas Eve had Influenza B, a virus that causes respiratory infections.

Federal agents are referring 50 illegal immigrants a day for urgent medical care, according to figures obtained by Washington D.C.’s conservative newspaper. Authorities say “it’s unlike anything they’ve ever seen before.” Many of the migrants have tuberculosis, parasites or the flue, the feds confirm. There are also lots of pregnant women about to give birth. The article quotes Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Kevin McAleenan saying that most of the illegal immigrants were sick when they arrived at the U.S. border. “Many were ill before they departed their homes,” McAleenan said. “We’re talking about cases of pneumonia, tuberculosis, parasites. These are not things that developed urgently in a matter of days.”

A separate story published by a mainstream newspaper on New Year’s Eve discloses that in the last few weeks of 2018 more than 450 illegal immigrants required medical attention for illnesses. More than half were children. In the piece CBP Commissioner McAleenan refers to the situation as a “crisis.” Here’s an excerpt from the article: “The ill migrants have been arriving with all kinds of ailments, many with flu or pneumonia that can be particularly pervasive and dangerous this time of year.” It proceeds to reveal that 17 illegal immigrants have been hospitalized and that the Coast Guard has been deployed to help, sending medical teams to Border Patrol sectors getting bombarded with sick migrants. They include Yuma and Tucson, Arizona as well as the Rio Grande Valley.

It’s unbelievable that a “news” narrative can change so quickly in just a few weeks. Right before Christmas the mainstream media proclaimed illegal immigrants don’t bring disease into the United States. In various articles reporters took it a step further by claiming that migrants actually help fight disease. One story, published by NBC news and reiterated by various other outlets, focused on a study commissioned by a medical journal. One of the researchers received lots of print for declaring that migrants spreading disease is a “false argument” used to keep them out. The editor of the medical journal that conducted the study was quoted saying this: “In too many countries, the issue of migration is used to divide societies and advance a populist agenda.” The biased coverage marked a great example of the mainstream media distorting information to promote a liberal agenda.

US Syria Withdrawal Must Be Planned in Cooperation With Right Partners - Erdogan

The United States must closely coordinate its planned pullout from Syria with the "right partners" in order to protect itself and the Syrian people, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday in an op-ed published by the New York Times.

"President Trump made the right call to withdraw from Syria. The United States withdrawal, however, must be planned carefully and performed in cooperation with the right partners to protect the interests of the United States, the international community and the Syrian people," Erdogan wrote.

The Turkish president also argued that his country was the only one that could work with both the United States and Russia on Syria, noting that Ankara is involved in both the Russian-led Astana process and the UN-backed Geneva process for Syria.

Erdogan emphasized that Turkey remains committed to the mission to defeat the Daesh* terror group in Syria, underlining that there would be "no victory for the terrorists."

After the terrorists are defeated, Syrian territories must be governed by "popularly elected councils," Erdogan wrote, adding that councils in predominantly Kurdish regions would largely consist of representatives from the Kurdish community.

In December, Trump declared victory over Daesh and announced that as a result, US forces would be coming home soon. On Monday, Trump said US forces would leave Syria while at the same time continue fighting the Daesh terror group.
