Kek started on World of Warcraft, where the two main factions, alliance and horde, each have their own language. Any time another faction spoke around you, a scrambled text bubble would pop up.
Thing is, the scrambling was predictable to both sides, so "LOL" always came out "KEK."
Thus was born a meme legend, and from there, a great and ancient God of chaos was awoken.
