This book covers the manipulation of the masses. It's by Bernays, the guy that got women to smoke in the 1920, convinced Americans that bacon and eggs was the American breakfast, and overthrew a Guatemalan government for fun.

As a child who was sexually abused I can answer you.
My abused told me my parents knew about it and wanted it to happen. He also told me that I should never talk about it or I'd get into trouble. He was my parents best friend. I believed him.
Belief that what is happening is suppose to happen.
Authority figures telling them that this is the way it's suppose to be.
This is from my own experience. Nobody told me it was wrong. My parents didn't know it was happening.
It's not fear. It's belied that it's suppose to be that way. Experience here.
Fear produces hate. I didn't hate my abuser, nor did I try to escape. I didn't like it, but I didn't like eating liver either. I was brought up to mind my elders. I did.
