The guardian, Rocxanne Deschamps is super spidey sense tingling. Nikolas and Zachary to inherit a large sum of money and she takes control of it the same week as the shooting.

SHE STOLE IT, INSTEAD. She kicked him out, left him with no money at all. He had nothing.

Then she commits the younger brother to a mental institution the day after the shooting and takes guardianship of his money, too.
