Keith Ellison would.
Isn't that his sister the press was drooling over at the Olympics?
Maybe 800,000 people shouldn't rely on the government for employment or handouts?
So Al Gore?
Children to the elite with homes in Paradise Valley and Scottsdale?
Well I can argue that many of us outside the FG have had years like yours and you just keep going. Lost my job in the recession while fed employees kept theirs. Worked 12 gigs that summer for 6 months until I found a retail job I could work for 4 years before getting back into my career as my career wasn't recession proof. Found a little niche that is recession proof now (I hope).
Maybe this thing is a way to shake out all the worthless lazy people while the hard working figure out ways to make ends meet. If you're hard working, most likely you're not living paycheck to paycheck as you know how to hustle and have side hobbies that make you money.
Far too many people live above their means. Rent / Mortgage should be less than 25% of your income. If you can't afford that, get a room mate or move. I drive a 25 year old car and also drive a second 15 year old car both paid off. Lots of mileage between the two but well maintained. It's really not hard to live a good life on less than 40k if single and less than 70k if married with a kid or 2 if you know how to prioritize.
Yep, the federal government's employees don't know firsthand the struggle 90% of workers have had over the past 8-9 years. They have a 2 week taste and freak out…. Well I've had 6 months and many have had multiple years of under employment or unemployment. I hope people will seriously take a look at the bloat in the fed that employs over 800k workers per Bernie Sanders.
You couldn't pay me enough to live in a blue state. My state is slowly turning purple which pisses me off.
During the recession I worked for free for a few gigs because they couldn't pay me on payday, so I waited for months to get paid, and still haven't. I have since forgiven the debt as it was my first boss who lost his Scottsdale ranch house in the recssion (an architect).
Term limits coming soon since we can't trust on constituents votes anymore due to rigging of the system / fuckery (aka midterms).
And we're talking about 6 months of back pay owed to me that I forgave. I was working on a hotel project that fell through.
Both of my parents left IL with their families in the 50s and 60s due to Chicago's fuckery back then.
Father from Chicago's Oak Park area, and mother from Bloomington area. Save some money and GTFO. That's what I would do. Find a decent red state with prospects like AZ / UT.
