The SM Act wasn’t repealed. The 2012/13 NDAA contained a midnight amendment which repealed that part of the original 1948 Act which prohibited the government’s use of “domestic propaganda”. Congress originally didn’t want th MSM spewing the type propaganda here that the Voice of America was broadcasting across the Iron Curtain. After the ban was lifted in 2013, the DoS (read CIA) was free to disseminate all the propaganda it wanted to the MSM. This was the reason for the discernible move by the MSM to downgrade its sourcing standards on any leaks provided by government agencies/individuals. There has always been a lingering question of the credibility of government source info fed to the MSM since 2013. This change was tailor made for the Deep State which wanted to manipulate the American People to a much greater degree than ever before. The 2013 basically turned the MSM into a full Pravda-like Mockingbird media which was always (((their))) goal. The MSM, by Law, became inherently complicit in deceiving the public.
