Anon, you really need to review the 2012 NDAA and the Smith-Mundt Act to see how nailing CNN on sedition would be a hard case to convict. Even the leaked information they publish is protected, but in general the leakers themselves are not.
The Smith-Mundt act was our legal protection against propaganda being used to manipulate Americans. It was our long standing legal mechanism to shut this shit down, and it's repeal is exactly why we are in this fucked up position.
