Mostly buying high country stations and property in Queens town yes there is some truth to it
But lots of people come over here thinking it is amazing and leave 5 or so years latter when reality set's in
think it is a bit different for the mega rich but dont know that they like the isolation as much as they thought they would.
There is a lot of resentment just under the surface having had the gap between rich and poor open up faster in NZ than almost anywhere in the last 15 years
and it is very much along a generational divide.
A majority of NZer's Have been more or less disenfranchised in a very short space of time (but hardly any boomers they are bubble believers in the extreme)
For many a hopelessness has descended across the land in a way that is hard to describe to those that are not living it (including our family)
My Take on it is that when the kiwi's that have had hope crushed out of there live's see a chance to change the country they will seize it with such authority that nothing will be able to resist
New Zealand society is a bomb that just needs a detonator it will almost certainly need to be imported and this movement is our best chance to get one
Strange time's in little old NZ for sure
