extract: '''Will the far-right rise in New Zealand?

There is clearly potential for a homegrown far-right movement. It might not exactly resemble those of Europe or the United States, but it would espouse the same fundamental beliefs: white supremacy, patriarchy and xenophobia, all enabled by a healthy helping of alternative facts and an immunity to truth.'''

(Note to ease reading the article just substitute: "Far Right" = "not left")

I know.. why read this stuff? Because Q told us to watch the news – not sure this counts though kek

Yep, NZ has long been a test bed for ideas-small first world country with a few large population centers. Particularly good for testing tech, but also for social experimentation.

I spotted the similarities to the Green New Deal when the idea of a "Fart Tax" didn't seem new to me. I realised anons had not come across this concept before.

I'm trying to figure out if this CGT is a DS move or not (i.e. more money for the CF). I don't think it is though, Stuff has run mostly neutral stories about the working group recommendations, and some of them actually seem to be mocking in nature. And you don't get more DS puppet than Stuff…

Also they actually allowed those comments, which were overwhelmingly against. (If like me you've not had stuff comments allowed through moderation then you know what that means).

No, these working group recommendations are pure socialism strictly driven by their idealogy.

I do not think the CGT will fly though. It will be taken off the table for the election, but the other recommendations will probably sneak through under the radar.

You mean this hit piece anon (pic related)?

With any article like this I just grab some random text out of it and do a search (pic related) and 99 times out of 100 it's just copy/pasta, usually from WaPo.

When I saw your post I went to the Herald web site to look for it (dyslexically did not see the link you provided kek) and couldn't find it. So even though I think our media has to publish this stuff (at the direction of their owners), I think they are waking up to the fact that they are being forced to push Fake News and are not plastering it all over the front page any more.

I would be 99% certain this article originated at WaPo.
