CA is living in a post-Trump world already; Jerry Brown begs POTUS for money for the fires they started, then turns around and stabs him in the back on his way out the door. Disgraceful.

Complementary, not contradictory. The pagan Canaanites, perhaps the most wicked people on earth, worshiped Ba'al (Reason, Science, Knowledge, Weather) and Ashteroth (Pleasure), thereby producing many unwanted babies that were "sacrificed" to Molech. When a people deny God, turn away from God, and worship idols, Reason and Pleasure give rise to (unwanted) babies, which are then aborted/sacrificed. When I said the Canaanites were perhaps the most wicked people on the planet, that was for their time. We've sunk well below where they were.

Depends. "Lucifer", "light bringer/bearer" is a shitty latin translation by Jerome for the Vulgate in Rome of the Hebrew "Helel ben Shachar", "Shining One, Son of the Dawn", i.e. an angel. That angel is the Adversary, or HaShatan. Satan. Pardon my Hebrew.

So for most purposes, Lucifer and Satan refer to the same leader of the fallen angels who led a coup against God in heaven that failed in one heartbeat.

However, satan as adversary can refer to any adversary, and a lucifer can be something as benign as the Statue of Liberty.
