Joaquin Phoenix's 'Joker' will apparently "have a political bent, with some pointed commentary on Donald Trump." And here I thought WB liked making money after the enjoyably non-political 'Aquaman'.

Didn't they originally want to cast Alec Baldwin as Thomas Wayne? Sounds like they are going with the angle that Thomas Wayne is a Trumpian "fascist" figure. So now we're shitting on the legacy of Batman's father by attaching their "Orange Man Bad!" narrative. double facepalm
