In 2013, Dem Senators Voted To Give $46 Billion To Secure Border

Well, the cat is out of the bag on one of the Democrats’ talking points about the border wall.

And it was a Democrat who spilled the beans on their hypocrisy.

The government shutdown over the border wall funding battle has seen a number of excuses from Democrats. One, however, has been cost for the wall. When Kentucky’s Democratic Rep. John Yarmuth appeared on The Hill’s “Rising” on Friday, he admitted the amount requested is chump change compared to other amounts the Democrats have been willing to pay for border security.

Oopsie! Since he seemed to fumble his way through the interview, can we trust what he said about that? Yes, we can!

The Daily Wire reported that there has been more than one time in the past when the Democrats approved higher amounts of funding for border security.

In 2006 that amount was $50 billion over a period of 25 years. It was approved by 26 Senate Democrats.

The Boston Globe reported that the funds were to cover a secure barrier along the southern border. Then-Sens. Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Barack Obama all voted for the the Secure Fence Act of 2006.

The Globe goes on to note that Obama praised the bill at the time, saying, “The bill before us will certainly do some good.”

He also spoke of how it would create “better fences and better security along our borders.”

The then-future president also praised the fact that it would “help stem some of the tide of illegal immigration in this country.” But that is not the only example of Democratic hypocrisy on border wall spending.

Screenshot of items removed by Amazon after Muslims complained

Amazon removed over a dozen products from its website after the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), an unindicted co-conspirator of a Hamas funding case complained they were offensive to Muslims.

As expected, Amazon, the Seattle-based online retailer bowed to Sharia law and removed a variety of doormats and bathmats with verses from the Quran and other references to Mohammed.

CAIR said in a statement that the products, which were being sold by independent sellers on Amazon, are offensive to Muslims because they “would be stepped-on or otherwise disrespected by customers.”

After Amazon kissed the Sharia law ring and removed the Muslim products, CAIR thanked them in statement.

“We thank Amazon for its swift action on this issue and hope it sends a message to manufacturers of such inappropriate and offensive items that they will not profit from Islamophobia or any other form of bigotry,” Masih Fouladi, executive director of CAIR’s Washington state chapter, said in the statement.

Trump's wall would be the 32nd active national emergency

If President Donald Trump invokes a "national emergency" at the US border and uses emergency powers to bypass Congress and obtain funding to build his long-promised border wall, a battle in the courts over the questionable legality of spending those dollars would be virtually guaranteed.

But the United States is no stranger to national emergencies.

In fact, the US has been in a perpetual state of declared national emergency for four decades, and the country is currently under 31 concurrent states of emergency about a spectrum of international issues around the globe, according to a CNN review of documents from the Congressional Research Service and the Federal Register.

The federal government is well into its third week of a partial shutdown over funding for the President's wall along the border with Mexico. The White House and Democrats in Congress are locked at an impasse: Trump is demanding $5.6 billion, while House Democrats have vowed not to give him a dollar.
