BREAKING: ‘Suspicious package’ sent to UK consulate and others in Melbourne, Australia

Suspicious packages delivered to multiple foreign consulates across Melbourne

 

Emergency services are responding to reports of multiple suspicious packages being delivered to at least five international consulates across Melbourne.

 

Images taken by 9News show emergency services attending the Indian Consulate and US Consulate on St Kilda Road.

 

The United Kingdom Consulate, located on Collins Street, along with the Korean Consulate (St Kilda Road), German Consulate (Queen Street), Italian Consulate (St Kilda Road), Swiss Consulate (Ashwood), Pakistan Consulate (Cardigan Place), and Greece Consulate (Albert Road) are believed to have been affected.

 

On the Emergency Victoria website, there are eight “Hazardous Material” alerts listed in the past 30 minutes.

 

Authorities are yet to make an official statement.
