Not a lawfag, though. And the best way of course would be to educate the people, so that they turn them off.

But that's probably impossible ….

How much money does US pay annually for "state-sponsored" channels, i.e. Radio Liberty, Free Europe etc?

Asking because one could easily (examples are numerous & even scary at times) make the point that CNN et al (i.e. the fake news) are indeed misleading & not fulfilling their task as the "fourth column" of power (i.e. neutral & objective journalism).

From that maybe one could derive the need for a state-sponsored/state-supported news professional news network that fullfills the task of neutrally reporting the news w/o having to do the current governments bidding.

Read the book & watched the three movies.

Was disappointed by the movies – of all three parts, the first movie was just about acceptable.

Book is a great read though!

>No not impossible to educate enough people.

I'd love to believe it. Alas, watching what's been happening in schools & universities (e.g. safe spaces, snowflakes, freedom of speech & opinion), and knowing how long it takes (about a generation?) to change the thinking of broad swaths of a population – I am not sure if that's a valid/working solution.

At minimum you'd have to initiate a real & strong trend that makes knowledge, wisdom & even "nerdism" "cool" again.

That would (for many parts) go straight against the interests of "capitalism" as practiced today, since dumb customers are the best customers.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not against capitalism, but I am for educated & thinking consumers, who think twice before they buy something they've just seen on TV….
