I had to ask myself, "What would make Donald Trump adhere to an eloquent and very Presidential speech?" Then it just came to me; posterity. Throughout the battle for The Wall, I think he remembers Ronald Reagan saying, "Mister Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" and he clearly wanted History to meticulously record his reasons for forcing the issue. He wants History on his side.
