Fines for loud mufflers: AB 1824 in California

Their justification for passing this law and targeting those with modified exhausts is due to what they claim is deaths from "street take overs", where a bunch of criminals/illegal faggots in Los Angeles take over a street intersection to do burnouts and donuts.

So because of these morons, EVERYONE gets punished due to the strange conflation of "if you mod your car, you must also be participating in criminal activities."

These cops are saying they're on a federal grant to patrol streets for "loud mufflers". What's funny is that they'll pull you over even if you have a stock exhaust, that they judge is "too loud". Multiple people have fought this in court and have lost, even those who have stock systems. The fine is $1000 per repeat offense, non fixable, THIS bypasses the fucking fix-it ticket.

Also, there's no word on if this affects motorcyclist, who are MUCH louder than cars.
