Anons, OT question. Spouse and I share cell plan. Last month we went over our data plan. We got online to look at detailed log and noticed our phones were using data when we were asleep. For kicks, the past 3 nights I set my phone on airplane mode. Yesterday we looked at the detailed data use for my phone and it shows small amounts of data being used (or received?) at 3 am, 4 am.. I’m sleeping. Not on the phone. On airplane mode. Each data bit is small but it can add up. How is this possible? (Verizon). ???

I’m surprised someone hasn’t sued. We got the standard “buy more data or increase your plan!” message, which I’m sure many folks do. We said fuck em and buckled down basically not using any data until the month refreshed.

I’m stuck with one too for work. With my limited knowledge I do what I can as far as privacy- as much tracking off as possible even leaving at home sometimes on errands, no public WiFi ever and on long trips leaving it home. I hate them. Tracking devices.
