Police: 18,000 pounds of marijuana found in semitruck during Oklahoma traffic stop
PAWHUSKA, Okla. —
Police officials in the northeastern Oklahoma town of Pawhuska said they found about 18,000 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop Wednesday morning.
Pawhuska police told KOKI-TV that officers pulled over a semitruck that ran a red light.
A white van was following the truck down the road before the traffic stop, according to police. One officer said they felt something was not right about the truck.
Police said the truck was carrying at least 18,000 pounds of marijuana.
Police said the people driving the truck gave officers a bill of sale for hemp weed, but investigators said the document was vague, the news station reported. They told police they were headed to Colorado from Kentucky.
