Dr. Craig Mallak has been named the new chief medical examiner in Broward County after a critical inspector general report about how the office was run.
As the U.S. Armed Forces medical examiner, Mallak managed the Armed Forces Toxicology Laboratory and presided over a $50 million budget and staff of 250, including pathologists, toxicologists, DNA scientists and support personnel, a county news release said. He provided oversight in the death investigations of some high-profile cases, including the space shuttle Columbia, the Haiti earthquake and terrorist activities abroad
The Business Journal reported in February about the inspector general report, which found problems in tracking narcotic's at the ME's office. The investigation began in November, which was the same month Gov. Rick Scott declined to reappoint Chief Medical Examiner Joshua Perper, who was in the national media spotlight during the 2007 autopsy of Anna Nicole Smith.

Do a FOIA request on details on how the students died and specifics related to injuries.
You will eventually be turned down in such a request and they will again, as in Sandy Hook, state some bizarre reason to not provide it.
