Hudson Reintroduces National Concealed Carry Reciprocity

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Richard Hudson (NC-08) released the following statement after reintroducing his bipartisan Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act (H.R. 38):

“Concealed carry reciprocity is already well-established across our country with the average state recognizing permits from more than 30 other states,” said Rep. Hudson. “National concealed carry reciprocity is common sense, and I’ll continue to lead the efforts to make it a reality.”

Rep. Hudson, who is nationally recognized as the champion of concealed carry reciprocity, previously introduced the bill in the 115th Congress. The bill passed the House in December 2017 with bipartisan support, 231-198.

The bill is recognized as one of the most important pro-Second Amendment measures in Congress, with some supporters saying it would be one of the greatest legislative advancements of our Second Amendment rights in history. It is also supported by attorneys general of 24 states.

Rep. Hudson has appeared 60 Minutes, Fox & Friends, Fox & Friends First, and Fox News @ Night to discuss this important legislation. In addition, he has written several op-eds to set the record straight on misconceptions on the bill. Because of his leadership, he was the only member of the U.S. House of Representatives asked to speak at the NRA’s annual meeting last year.

As a leader on protecting our Second Amendment rights, Rep. Hudson introduced similar legislation in the 114th Congress. This bill, H.R. 986, had 216 cosponsors. In addition, his amendment to stop President Obama’s “green-tip” bullet ban passed the House in June 2015 and helped put intense pressure on the Obama Administration to abandon its unilateral attempt to restrict our right to keep and bear arms.

Why has this not been addressed yet?

Trump campaigned on this issue and they wait till Pelosi takes the house to vote?

It seems not even the Republicans want us to have gun rights..

On September 18, 2015, Breitbart News reported Trump’s conviction that “concealed carry…is a right, not a privilege.” He used a policy position paper to explain that national reciprocity needs to succeed, saying:

>The right of self-defense doesn’t stop at the end of your driveway. That’s why I have a concealed carry permit and why tens of millions of Americans do too. That permit should be valid in all 50 states. A driver’s license works in every state, so it’s common sense that a concealed carry permit should work in every state. If we can do that for driving – which is a privilege, not a right – then surely we can do that for concealed carry, which is a right, not a privilege.
