late comment x-ref: >>4633817 about construction types on border wall…
Have personally seen the wall going up along the border west of El Paso into NM. Have driven by 3 times in the last two months. It is going up FAST, mile after mile.
This ANON is describing quite close to what I've observed in terms of crew size (based on number of personal vehicle parked in the staging areas along Hwy 9. The rumor is the footers are some 6' deep, which I would think is inadequate based on the high wind load in this border region and the soil type. 6' is OK until monsoon season. Then I would question if that is adequate based on other wind load / footer information I'm familiar with.
In the central part of NM, there has been a similar wall for a long time 15 yrs, just not as tall. And since it isn't very long, the criminals just head down to the end of the wall and walk around it.
Sections in NM didn't even have barb wire up for a fence.
NM border patrol - 150-200 being caught coming across DAILY in NM. These numbers only represent the ones that they catch, not the ones that don't get caught.
The ones transporting drugs/illegals come thru the ports AND across the unprotected desert areas. Lookouts are positioned on roads. Once the foot crews arrives, they are picked up by the US side of the cartels. Drugs get transferred to points E-W-N. The dusty mules head back to MX for the next load.
They have also used ultralights to haul loads across - tracked by the AEROSTAT.
A wall from ELP to Pacific would help a lot !!!
