A new Constitution is necessary. Not just from the standpoint of incorporating the realities of modern technology, but also symbolically, as well. Even if what we ultimately came up with was identical to what we have, now - it is necessary to complete the cycle of nations.
You must realize what era you are in and what responsibilities are destined to the generations of today. You do not have an option - you will set the course for the next thousand years of human civilization. It will not be possible for generations 100 years from now to do the same. It was not possible for generations 100 years ago.
We sit at the cross-roads of destiny. The old era is coming to an end. A new era is beginning. Look around you. I just put together a 3d printer and have plans for one that can handle metals. I grew up with my circle of intimate friends consisting of two Australians, a Japanese-American, people dotted all around the U.S., and we regularly engaged in conversation/debate with people all over the world.
I have left messages to my children who will not be born for many years into my social media accounts. I have left messages to researchers and archivists who may one day happen on my particular existence.
For thousands of years, humanity lived under gods. Now, we are each titans who are comparable to primordial forces the gods once battled to establish their rule.
Nothing will stop what is coming. But we can give it direction… Or we can let it be given direction. Most of the gods enjoy their throne in Olympus. They will not sit idly by while humans become titans.
