Layered Security Approach to Operating A Secure Country

LIBS have been getting on my nerves today spewing ignorant shit about border security saying "we can use drones" for it. To properly secure a facility or country you need to take a multi faceted (or layered) approach. This is called layered security. (foreign concept for practically every SJW on twatter). Here are my thoughts including the "layer one" excerpt from the linked article (i added a few things).

Layer One—Outer Perimeter

True security begins at a facility’s/countries outermost perimeter. The edge of your property line/border is the best place to stop or detect an intruder because the time to respond can be maximized. A common approach to securing the perimeter involves the four “D's”: deter, detect, delay and deny. At the outermost perimeter, security options are numerous and range from age-old technologies (such as a wall) to the latest innovations (drones, seismic sensors, FLIR, Fiber Cable Sensors).

While fences and walls are among the most common structures used for securing perimeters, tighter security needs driven by regulations such as Chemical Facilities Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) often require some form of intrusion detection system. Such systems help provide a higher level of perimeter protection, whether they are fence-mounted, freestanding or buried.

There are many technologies available in fence-mounted systems alone, such as taut wire, microphones and fiber optics. These systems have varying degrees of success and sophistication and are all designed to detect any intrusive attempt to cut, climb or lift a secured fence and issue an instant alarm. Cameras can then help verify that an alarm is in fact a legitimate intrusion—versus a nuisance or false alarm requiring no action—and guide security staff in taking proper action before an intruder reaches the buildings or assets inside.

When you combine all of the current technologies together you can get an effective deterrent to illegal immigration.

  1. Build a wall/physical Barrier - Inexpensive materials. Deters all but the most hardcore individuals. The barrier increases the time it takes to cross the border. This allows for additional time for drones and CBP teams to respond to apprehend the suspects.

  2. Add cameras and make them mobile via portable surveillance tower - Facial recognition/FLIR cameras to assist with identification. Facial recognition cameras can ping existing data bases for known criminals.

  3. Deploy Drones - Additional drone patrols can be used to patrol remote sections of border. These drones run automated routes with very high motion sensitivity and can immediately detect and report an intruder. They use FLIR and traditional cameras to do this. These drones can also be piloted manually if needed to pursue immigrants. The drones automatically return to their charging station when the battery reaches critical limit. The charging stations are hurricane and vandal proof.

  4. Seismic Sensors - Place along the base of the wall in high traffic/easy to access areas to detect and localized digging attempting to circumvent the wall.

  5. Rapid Response Teams - Add additional staff for teams to apprehend individuals attempting to enter. Detain - scan into existing databases for future reference then deport.

Many of these things need to be used simultaneously in order to create a truly secure border/country/facility. One of these is not enough.

Just wanted to post in case anyone could use this against these idiots.
