DAVIS — Authorities are searching for a suspect who shot a police officer in downtown Davis on Thursday night.
The shooting occurred around 7 p.m., when a Davis officer went to investigate a report of a three-vehicle crash near 5th and D streets, according to the Davis Enterprise.
The newspaper reported that the officer was transported to the UC Davis Medical Center, where he was listed in critical condition, according to KCRA-TV.
The suspect was described as a white man in his 20s with an average build. He was last seen wearing a baseball cap, black jacket, blue or tan jeans and black tactical boots.
Downtown businesses have been locked down as officers search for the suspect, according to the Enterprise.
