Judge Garaufis Drops Another Bombshell – And Asks For Even More Information Concerning Clare Bronfman’s Defense Trust Fund

You have to love Judge Nicholas G. Garaufis.

Just when the defense attorneys thought they had pulled the wool over his eyes with regard to the Legal Defense Trust Fund that is paying their exorbitant fees, the judge has another “drop the mic” moment.

The most recent one came in the form of another sua sponte order in which he announced that he still has concerns about two scenarios that could arise if the Trust’s corpus – i.e., the sum of money set aside to pay the legal fees of Keith Raniere, Allison Mack, Nancy Salzman, Lauren Salzman, and Kathy Russell – is exhausted before the pending litigation is complete.

First, the judge noted the possibility that the Beneficiaries of the Trust (Raniere, Mack, the Salzmans and Russell) may lose “…the ability to retain their current counsel while this litigation is ongoing”.

Second, he noted that the Beneficiaries’ defense strategies could influence the decisions by the Contributor(s) to the Trust regarding whether to replenish the Trust’s corpus – which, as he correctly noted, may raise potential conflicts for defendants’ counsel that defendants need to understand.

Finally, Judge Garaufis also noted that the choices of potential witnesses (who may also be Beneficiaries) may also influence whether the original Contributors to the Trust will decide to contribute more funds.

So, in order to decide these matters, here’s what Judge Garaufis has ordered the defense attorneys to provide to him on or before Monday, January 14th:

• The remaining corpus of the Trust as of the January 9, 2019; – [i.e. How much money is left]

• Whether, in the Trustee’s view, the remaining corpus of the Trust will be sufficient to cover all the legal fees and expenses associated with the representation of the beneficiaries for the duration of this litigation (Not a chance!);

• Additional details regarding the fee arrangement set forth in the Trustee’s counsel’s May 18, 2018 letter to Marc Agnifilo, which Agnifilo submitted to the court ex parte and under seal on December 11, 2018;

• The amount of money that each Contributor has contributed to the Trust as of January 9, 2019; and

• The nature and extent of the relationships, if any, between each of the Contributors and the Beneficiaries. [it is important to note that there is more than one donor to the trust. We don’t know who they are other than Clare Bronfman.]

Cutting through all the legal mumbo-jumbo, Judge Garaufis is raising appropriate questions about the Legal Defense Trust Fund that the defense attorneys are going to have trouble dodging.

Will the judge pull the plug on this arrangement that has more built-in conflicts-of-interest than the number of lies in Keith Raniere’s resume?

If he does – which would seem to be the prudent thing to do in this situation – then “Winter Is Coming” for Raniere, Mack, the Salzmans and Russell.

US TV Editor Fired After Station Airs Bizarrely Altered Trump Address

A staffer with Washington State Fox affiliate Q13 was fired this week after the station aired what appears to be a doctored video of US President Donald Trump's Tuesday night address from the Oval Office.

The unidentified editor was initially placed on leave before the conclusion of an internal investigation led to his dismissal from the station. It's presently unclear whether the editor created the altered footage or simply allowed it to be broadcast.

"This does not meet our editorial standards, and we regret if it is seen as portraying the president in a negative light," Erica Hill, station news director, told the Seattle Times.

Local conservative talk radio station 770 KTTH shared on Wednesday a side-by-side comparison video of Trump's unaltered speech and the Q13 clip, in an effort to expose the differences between the recordings.

Seems obvious this is being used to highlight 'deepfake' tech. Stinks of clown ass.

Political Correctness Is Much More Harmful Than People Realize

A recent poll found that Political Correctness is extremely unpopular in America, even amongst moderates and independents, which got me thinking on the subject. There exists an old quote from a famed British psychiatrist by the name of Anthony Daniels regarding Political Correctness. It is the best quote I know of on the subject, and I have been mulling it over for some time, considering its meaning and its implications. The quote reads:

Political Correctness is communist propaganda writ small. In my study of communist societies, I came to the conclusion that the purpose of communist propaganda was not to persuade or convince, nor to inform, but to humiliate; and therefore, the less it corresponded to reality the better.

When people are forced to remain silent when they are being told the most obvious lies, or even worse when they are forced to repeat the lies themselves, they lose once and for all their sense of probity. To assent to obvious lies is to co-operate with evil, and in some small way to become evil oneself. One's standing to resist anything is thus eroded, and even destroyed.

A society of emasculated liars is easy to control. I think if you examine Political Correctness, it has the same effect and is intended to.

In this way, Political Correctness can be seen not only as a form of narrative control and truth suppression, but as a type of relentless bullying. Speech codes and persistent propaganda no one is even allowed to object to (like diversity worship or the fictions we constantly hear about human equality), reinforce society’s sense of powerlessness. If you can get people to assent to obvious lies, or better yet to repeat them, or better still to absorb them, which is to say to lie to themselves, there is virtually nothing you can’t make them do. You have broken the seal, as drinkers say.

Europe will not allow US to determine trade relations with Iran: Mogherini

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, says the United States cannot impose its policies on the 28-nation bloc's "legitimate trade" relations with Iran.

"We Europeans cannot accept that a foreign power – even our closest friend and ally – makes decisions over our legitimate trade with another country," Mogherini said in an interview with the European Council on Foreign Relations published on Friday.

She added that the EU is working with the rest of the international community to keep alive the landmark nuclear agreement, officially known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), despite the US unilateral move to pull out from the deal.

The Iran nuclear deal "has so far been implemented in full, as certified by the International Atomic Energy Agency in 13 consecutive reports," she said.

US President Donald Trump withdrew his country in May from the historic Iran nuclear deal and decided to re-impose unilateral sanctions against Tehran.

Under the deal, reached between Iran and six major powers - the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China - Tehran agreed to put limits on its nuclear program in exchange for the removal of nuclear-related sanctions.

The US administration hoped to get the other parties to the deal with Iran to likewise scrap the deal, but instead, they stressed that not only would they stick to the agreement, but they would also work to sustain it in the face of increased US pressure.

A report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said in November that Iran has continued to implement all its commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal even as the United States re-imposed fresh sanctions against Tehran.

The IAEA's report said Iran has been complying with the restrictions to its nuclear program laid down in the nuclear deal, adding, "There is nothing that indicates that Iranian cooperation or the Iranian attitude has changed since the 5th of November."
