wanted to share something local, that seemed "coincidence" IMHO.
Today, on WMAL (a conservative radio station in DC), on the Larry O'Connor show, he interviewed a Virginia State Senator to discuss Virginia's "PUSH" to "ratify the ERA" (only 30 yrs too late!!)
This is the 2nd year in a row that Virginia legislature has made this push (at the behest of the Dem/progressive governor–Northrop).
It passed out of committee today, and will come to the floor of the State Senate next week.
During the interview, this state senator, Republican Amanda Chase, quotes RBGs writings from the Civil Rights Commission (1977) that Q had quoted the other day.
She was discussing the ridiculousness of the push to "ratify" this, when she says there was a 7 yr time limit for States to ratify the ERA back in the early 80s, and even if it passes, it means nothing.
Also, Sen Chase discussed how if the ERA actually were ratified, the ways in which it would impact current US Laws, essentially anything that is identified as male or female would be "unconstitutional" (mentioning it would go WAY beyond bathrooms, locker rooms, dressing rooms…).
I just thought it was interesting that I have lived 53+ yrs and NEVER heard/read about the RBG writings and now 2x in the past week????
weird
here's the website of the org that is trying to revive the ERA
