Fuckery afoot with Paradise Camp Fire Clean up!

Need help digging if anyone interested.

Target rich dig includes State of California.

Paradise clean up readying for Phase II

By Jan. 28, work crews should be starting to haul away Camp Fire debris from Paradise, according to a Cal Office of Emergency Services official.

Eric Lamoureux, Cal OES acting deputy director, told about 200 who gathered Thursday night at the Durham Memorial Hall how Phase II of the debris removal was going to launch.

Lamoureux…responded to comments in regards to Tetra Tech, an engineering firm hired by the state to test soil contamination.

The Sacramento Bee reported the company has been sued by the U.S. Department of Justice for faking soil samples during the clean-up of the former Hunters Point naval shipyard in San Francisco, a federal project. U.S.House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-San Francisco, has called for a review of the company’s federal contracts.

Lamoureux said the state has used the company about half a dozen times and “never had an issue.”

He blamed the problem on “rogue employees" who are no longer with the company. In response, the state is adding its own auditing process for the whole project, he said.

The Bee also reported that a competing company, Arcadis, has challenged the $250 million contract awarded to Tetra Tech, but the latter company has already started work.

Bayview, Hunters Point residents join lawsuit against Tetra Tech over Hunters Point cleanup

Attorneys representing 38,000 residents of San Francisco’s Hunters Point and Bayview neighborhoods in a lawsuit against Tetra Tech, the firm hired by the U.S. Navy to rid the area’s former shipyard of toxic waste, said Monday they’ve added more than 2,000 residents to the suit, bringing the total number of plaintiffs to more than 40,000.

The lawsuit, filed in San Francisco Superior Court in May by attorney Charles Bonner, accuses Tetra Tech EC of “blatant, conscious, callous disregard of Bayview Hunters Point residents’ lives, born and unborn” and “unfair and fraudulent business practices.” The suit is seeking $27 billion in damages.

Feds Sue Navy Contractor for Environmental Fraud

The U.S. government will prosecute three whistleblower complaints against a U.S. Navy contractor accused of widespread fraud in the $1 billion cleanup of a radiation-contaminated shipyard and site of a major redevelopment project.

Seven whistleblowers have accused the contractor Tetra Tech of falsifying soil tests that were supposed to verify the decontamination of a 400-acre site where more than 10,000 homes are slated to be built in one of the largest redevelopment projects in San Francisco history.

“It was of critical importance to the United States Navy, and the public, that Tetra Tech perform accurately and fully the radiological testing and remediation at the Hunters Point site for which it was hired,” Assistant Attorney General Joseph Hunt said in a statement Friday. “The Department of Justice will vigorously pursue action against those who obtain federal funds based on promises they knowingly fail to keep.”

Tetra Tech was paid more than $250 million in contracts for its work on the Hunters Point project from 2006 to 2012, according to the U.S. Navy.
