The meeting took place in early 2018 and Rosenstein, who brought up the investigations himself, offered the assurance during a meeting with Trump at the White House

n May 2018 House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy told reporters FBI Director Christopher Wray and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein assured him and several lawmakers that the ongoing Russian witch hunt “has nothing to do with Donald Trump.”

But the FBI and DOJ were lying to the president and Congressional leaders.

On Friday The New York Times reported the FBI investigated US President Trump after he fired crooked Director James Comey.

It appears the top officials in the FBI and DOJ lied to the president and Congress.

Hamas Reveals Details Of Failed Israeli Intelligence Operation In Gaza (Video, Photos)

On January 12, the Palestinian Hamas Movement revealed new details about the failed Israeli Intelligence operation inside the Gaza Strip last November, which led to a military escalation in the region.

A spokesman of the Izz ad-Din al-Qassam Brigades [the military wing of Hamas], Abu Obaida, said during a press briefing that 15 members of the Israeli military’s “Sayeret Matkal” elite special operations unit participated in the operation, which was aimed at planting advanced signal intelligence systems inside Gaza in order to spy on Hamas communications.

According to Abu Ubaida, the Israeli unit trained for the operation from January to October of 2018. Furthermore, the two specially-modified vehicles, which were used in the operation, were smuggled into Gaza through a humanitarian crossing.

A day ahead of the operation, the unit entered Gaza from Israel through a hope in the separation fence at foggy night in an undisclosed area. The unit’s members had fake Palestinian IDs and forged documents of humanitarian workers.

No local collaborators were involved in the operation, which failed when Nur Barake, a deputy commander of an elite unit of al-Qassam, suspected one of the Israeli unit’s vehicles while it was moving through the city of Khan Yunis in the southern part of Gaza.

Barak and few fighters of al-Qassam stopped the vehicle and became aware that something was wrong when the Israeli agents showed them their fake IDs. The Palestinian commander attempted to detain the agents who responded by opening fire. During the firefight, Baraka and an Israeli service member, which was identified as Mahmud Khir al-Din, were killed.

At the height of the 2014 war between the Israeli military and Palestinian factions in the Gaza Strip, the New York Times ran an article headlined, “Israel Says That Hamas Uses Civilian Shields, Reviving Debate.” It was an apparent reference to the hundreds of Palestinian civilians who had been killed in Israeli attacks by that point in the war. There was no question about who had killed them, yet the language shifted the subject to a “debate” about who was really responsible. A few weeks earlier, after an Israeli airstrike killed several Palestinian soccer fans, the Times ran the absurd title, “Missile at Beachside Gaza Cafe Finds Patrons Poised for World Cup,” later amending the headline in the face of widespread disgust expressed on social media.

Headlines matter. As studies have repeatedly shown, when it comes to reaching the general public, the words at the top of the page might be as important, if not more, than the text of articles themselves — to the chagrin of many writers. In the case of the Israel-Palestine conflict, inappropriate, misleading, and biased headlines like those that appeared in the New York Times during 2014 Gaza War have been all too common.

This is the conclusion of a new study titled “50 Years of Occupation” published by 416Labs, a research and data analytics firm based in Canada. The firm analyzed nearly 100,000 news headlines about the conflict in the American press over the past five decades and found that the Israeli point of view was featured much more prominently than the Palestinian one, and that references to Palestinians’ experiences of being “refugees” or living under “occupation” have steadily declined.

“The findings demonstrate a persistent bias in coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian issue — one where Israeli narratives are privileged and where, despite the continued entrenchment of the occupation, the very topics germane to Palestinians’ day-to-day reality have disappeared,” Owais Zaheer, one of the study’s authors, told The Intercept. “It calls to attention the need to more critically evaluate the scope of coverage of the Israeli occupation and recognize that readers are getting, at best, a heavily filtered rendering of the issue.”

President Donald Trump’s December 18 announcement that he intends to withdraw all U.S. troops from Syria produced some isolated support in the anti-war wings of both parties, but largely provoked bipartisan outrage among in Washington’s reflexively pro-war establishment.

Both GOP Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of the country’s most reliable war supporters, and Hillary Clinton, who repeatedly criticized former President Barack Obama for insufficient hawkishness, condemned Trump’s decision in very similar terms, invoking standard war on terror jargon.

But while official Washington united in opposition, new polling data from Morning Consult/Politico shows that a large plurality of Americans support Trump’s Syria withdrawal announcement: 49 percent support to 33 percent opposition.

That’s not surprising given that Americans by a similarly large plurality agree with the proposition that “the U.S. has been engaged in too many military conflicts in places such as Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan for too long and should prioritize getting Americans out of harm’s way” far more than they agree with the pro-war view that “the U.S. needs to keep troops in places such as Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan to help support our allies fight terrorism and maintain our foreign policy interests in the region.”

Bolton Leaving Turkey After Erdogan Rejects Meeting Request

TEHRAN (FNA)- US President Donald Trump's National Security Adviser John Bolton is preparing to leave Ankara after Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan denied his requested meeting.

Erdogan earlier in the day slammed statements Bolton made that Washington's condition for a troop withdrawal from Syria is that Turkey protects the PKK's Syrian affiliate People's Protection Units (YPG), Daily Sabah reported.

Commenting on the development, Erdogan told reporters that Presidential Adviser Ibrahim Kalin is Bolton's Turkish counterpart. The two held a meeting on Syria at the Presidential Complex in Ankara earlier on Tuesday.

Erdogan said at the Justice and Development (AK Party) Party's parliamentary group meeting on Tuesday morning that Bolton's comments on the YPG were unacceptable, and that Turkey could not accept the US' stated condition.

Bolton stated on Sunday that the US military withdrawal from Northeastern Syria is conditioned on defeating the remnants of Daesh terrorist group, and on Turkey assuring the safety of fighters allied with the United States — the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which is dominated by the YPG terrorists.

Bolton and Kalin had a productive discussion regarding the United States' decision to withdraw from Syria, Spokesperson for the US National Security Council Garrett Marquis said after the meeting on Tuesday morning.

Marquis added in a statement that the two sides had identified further issues for dialogue and that the US looks forward to ongoing military-to-military consultations.

US Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Joseph Dunford and James Jeffrey, the US Special Representative for Syria and the Special Envoy for the Anti-Daesh Coalition, also attended the meeting that lasted a little over two hours.
