Israel strikes Gaza in response to rocket fire
Israeli jets and artillery targeted multiple sites in Khan Younis and east of Gaza city, according to media reports and witnesses, apparently targeting Hamas positions, after the IDF said a projectile had been fired at Israel.
Israeli warplanes carried out at least two raids on the Gaza Strip, the IDF has confirmed. The IDF noted that Israel holds the “terrorist organization” in control of the enclave to be responsible for anything happening there, including all missile attacks, and “will continue operating to defend Israeli civilians.”
Meanwhile, witnesses described the strikes as an “unusually heavy” response to a single rocket, that was presumably fired by Hamas militants and landed in the deserted area of southern Israel earlier in the day, resulting in no reported damage or casualties.
Militant groups in the Gaza strip, including Hamas, have warned the IDF on Saturday that should Tel Aviv attack the enclave they “will escalate the confrontation with Israel.”
In November, Israel struck a ceasefire deal with the leadership of Gaza following an intense two-day border confrontation, triggered by a botched Israeli special forces raid into the strip. Within that time Hamas and Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine launched over 400 rockets and projectiles into southern Israel, while the IDF responded by striking over 150 targets in the enclave.

'Jewish Terror’: Settler attacks on Palestinians TRIPLED last year
In what has been dubbed the ‘Jewish Terror’, settler attacks on Palestinians and their property tripled last year, with nearly 500 incidents reported ranging from racist graffiti, to assault, to the destruction of olive trees.
According to figures reported by Haaretz, there were 482 politically motivated crimes carried out by settlers in the West Bank last year, compared to 140 in 2017. It’s the highest number of incidents in four years.
These attacks frequently include assaults and stone throwing. The most common episodes have seen racist, nationalistic, and anti-Muslim graffiti spray painted around Palestinian neighborhoods and on property, with about 540 vehicles damaged.
The attackers have also targeted olive trees and grapevines. Around 7,900 trees were destroyed or damaged in what is seen as a calculated attack on the livelihood of many Palestinians, who rely on the trees for their income.
Settlers often frame these incidents as “price tag” attacks, a form of retaliation for Palestinian violence and Israeli government policies they perceive as threatening their settlements. Some attacks are used as a form of intimidation in a bid to capture more Palestinian land.
There are between 500,000 and 600,000 Israeli settlers living in the occupied West Bank in settlements that are considered illegal under international law. In October, settlers killed Aisha Rabi, a mother of eight, when they threw a large rock at the car she was in. A week before that incident, a Palestinian man killed two Israeli settlers in a factory where they all worked. The spike in attacks was also backed up by the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), which recorded 265 incidents in which Israeli settlers killed (3) or injured (115) Palestinians or damaged Palestinian property, up to mid-December last year. This represents a 69-percent increase compared with 2017.
Between December 18-31, the OCHA reported 12 Palestinians were injured and at least 380 trees and 69 vehicles were vandalized in 14 incidents of settler violence.
Meanwhile, the OCHA reports a 28-percent decrease in incidents of violence carried out by Palestinians in the West Bank, with 181 incidents reported. However, seven Israelis were killed in 2018, compared to four in 2017.
Members of the hardline group of settlers dubbed the ‘hilltop youth’ are said to be responsible for a chunk of the attacks on Palestinians. The settlers, many of whom are teenagers, reside in illegal settlement outposts (settlements that even the Israeli government considers illegal) largely in the Shiloh Valley, where many of the attacks took place.
“The hilltop youth are less deterred than before and are feeling emboldened,” an Israeli defense official told the Times of Israel. Settler violence was at its peak in 2014, but numbers fell in the aftermath of a firebomb attack on a home in Duma in 2015, which killed three members of the Dawabshe family including an 18-month-old, and left a four-year-old boy as the only survivor, with burns to 85 percent of his body.
Israeli authorities clamped down on a circle of far-right settlers as a result, but after many of them were released last year, attacks have crept up again.

Figures. Fake Indian Elizabeth Warren Promotes List of Human “Rights” That Echoes the Old Soviet Union
On Friday Elizabeth Warren posted the tweet on the 75th year of Franklin Roosevelt’s declaration of human rights.
Elizabeth Warren: On this day 75 years ago, President Franklin D. Roosevelt made a declaration about the rights that all Americans deserve. The fight to guarantee these rights for every American remains unfinished. Now it’s up to all of us.
Of course, these “rights” listed by socialist President Roosevelt were never guaranteed by the Founders or the US Constitution.
Roosevelt announced this alternative list of “rights” in 1944.

Microsoft's Bing search engine reportedly had a child porn problem
Bing, Microsoft’s search engine, was surfacing child pornography, TechCrunch reports.
A report from online safety consultancy AntiToxin, commissioned by TechCrunch, found that several image searches using terms referring to children and pornography turned up explicit photos of clearly under-aged children.
Microsoft told TechCrunch it has removed these illegal images, and is working to block such search results in the future – though AntiToxin says that it found that some searches still showed the illegal images in question, even after the report was published.
Other social platforms have also had issues with rampant child porn, notably including Facebook’s WhatsApp.
Microsoft’s Bing search engine appears to have had a problem with child pornography.
TechCrunch reports that several queries on Bing returned child pornography for searches – even on seemingly-innocent search terms, suggested by Bing itself, related to the popular “Omegle kids” app.
According to a report from online safety consultancy AntiToxin, commissioned by TechCrunch, Bing search results included images that “any professional or novice can determine to be of underage boys and girls posing in partial/full nudity, as well as partaking in various sexual acts alone, or with others, including other minors, and/or adults.”
It’s important to note that searching for terms related to child pornography is illegal, and could constitute a crime. As such, Business Insider is not including in this story the specific search terms AntiToxin used in its report.
Microsoft did not respond to a request for comment from Business Insider. However, Microsoft told TechCrunch it fixed the issue after the publication made it aware, and removed illegal content from showing up in the search results used in AntiToxin’s report. However, AntiToxin found that some Bing queries still turned up illegal imagery, even after the publication of the report, according to TechCrunch.

Trump Says He Expects US, Russia to Eventually Restore Good Relations
Trump hinted at the need to improve relations with Russia on the campaign trail, even has his administration would go on to increase tensions with Moscow through new sanctions, diplomatic expulsions, and a NATO military buildup on Russia's western borders.
President Trump took aim at his 'Russiagate' critics on Saturday, tweeting that he has been "FAR tougher on Russia" than his predecessors, including Barack Obama, George W. Bush and Bill Clinton, but adding that he expects to see "good relations" between the US and Russia "someday."
The president tweeted the remark after taking aim at the "Failing New York Times" and "the corrupt former leaders of the FBI," who reportedly opened a probe to find out if Trump was "secretly working on behalf of Russia" after he fired director James Comey in 2017.
In the string of tweets on Saturday morning, Trump accused Comey of "rigging" and "botching" the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails, and said that his "poor leadership" of the Clinton case put the FBI "in complete turmoil." Trump accused FBI special counsel Bob Mueller and the Democrats of having "NO interest in going after the Real Collusion (and much more) by Crooked Hillary Clinton, her Campaign, and the Democratic National Committee."
Trump's Democratic opponents have continually accused him of being beholden to Russia during the 2016 race and throughout his two years in office, despite multiple policy decisions which Moscow has vigorously criticised. These include his decision to repeatedly bomb Syria, expand anti-Russian sanctions, close Russian consulates, expel diplomats, expand NATO's presence along Russia's borders in Eastern Europe, and threaten to withdraw from the Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, a key arms control treaty agreed on by the United States and the Soviet Union at the end of the Cold War.

US Investigating Boeing Satellite Sale To China-Backed Startup
The close relationship of Boeing (whose former employee Patrick Shanahan is now the acting Pentagon chief) with a Chinese government-backed satellite start up company has been the target of an SEC and Commerce Department investigation, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Global IP, based in Los Angeles, reportedly received a letter by the SEC requesting that the company retain all of its documents related to its work with Boeing as well as other entities, including China Orient Asset Management Company, a state owned Chinese lender. The letter says that the SEC believes that the company has "documents and data that are relevant to a matter under investigation". The letter was disclosed in a court filing on January 4 by one of Global IP's founders, Umar Javed. That filing was part of litigation against a group of defendants that includes a unit of China Orient.
China Orient was said to be providing financing to Global IP for the purchase of a satellite from Boeing. This is problematic because due to recent diplomatic… tensions shall we say, American companies are "effectively barred" from selling satellites to China.
The Commerce Department is also said to be looking at Global IP's Chinese financing. The Commerce Department is in charge of issuing export licenses from CFIUS, which is tasked with reviewing foreign deals for national security concerns.
The two co-founders of Global IP are suing because they allege that a unit of China Orient secretly took control of the company after it accepted $200 million in financing from the firm. The founders stated they had been upfront in disclosing to Boeing where their funding was coming from to begin with.
In a separate article, Global IP had denied to the Wall Street Journal that it was controlled by China Orient, at odds with what this lawsuit states. Javed said he obtained the SEC’s letter because he was a minority shareholder in the company, but he claims he’s no longer involved in day-to-day operations.
Using their financing from China Orient, Global IP contracted Boeing to build a satellite that would beam internet coverage to sub-Saharan Africa. National security experts were said to be concerned that the satellite could then be repurposed for military activities. In a previous Wall Street Journal article, lawmakers and government officials said that they were surprised Boeing would work with Global IP if it knowingly understood China's involvement.
The SEC investigation is said to still be at a preliminary stage and is not a guarantee that the agency will bring a complaint. This follow-up comes after a December 4 long-form expose on the transaction between Global IP and Boeing, which you can read here.

Spread of Wahhabism was done at request of West during Cold War – Saudi crown prince
Published time: 28 Mar, 2018 11:58
Edited time: 18 Apr, 2018 15:56
The Saudi-funded spread of Wahhabism began as a result of Western countries asking Riyadh to help counter the Soviet Union during the Cold War, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman told the Washington Post.
Speaking to the paper, bin Salman said that Saudi Arabia's Western allies urged the country to invest in mosques and madrassas overseas during the Cold War, in an effort to prevent encroachment in Muslim countries by the Soviet Union.
He added that successive Saudi governments had lost track of that effort, saying "we have to get it all back." Bin Salman also said that funding now comes mostly from Saudi-based "foundations," rather than from the government.
The crown prince’s 75-minute interview with the Washington Post took place on March 22. Another topic of discussion included a previous claim by US media that bin Salman had said that he had White House senior adviser Jared Kushner "in his pocket."
Bin Salman denied reports that when he and Kushner – who is also Donald Trump's son-in-law – met in Riyadh in October, he had sought or received a greenlight from Kushner for the massive crackdown on alleged corruption which led to widespread arrests in the kingdom shortly afterwards. According to bin Salman, the arrests were a domestic issue and had been in the works for years.
He said it would be "really insane" for him to trade classified information with Kushner, or to try to use him to advance Saudi interests within the Trump administration. He stated that their relationship was within a normal governmental context, but did acknowledge that he and Kushner "work together as friends, more than partners." He stated that he also had good relationships with Vice President Mike Pence and others within the White House.
The crown prince also spoke about the war in Yemen, where a Saudi-led coalition continues to launch a bombing campaign against Houthi rebels in an attempt to reinstate ousted Abdrabbuh Mansur Hadi as president. The conflict has killed thousands, displaced many more, driven the country to the brink of famine, and led to a major cholera outbreak.
Although the coalition has been accused of a large number of civilian deaths and disregard for civilian lives - an accusation which Riyadh denies - the crown prince said his country has not passed up "any opportunity" to improve the humanitarian situation in the country. “There are not good options and bad options. The options are between bad and worse,” he said.
The interview with the crown prince was initially held off the record. However, the Saudi embassy later agreed to led the Washington Post publish specific portions of the meeting.

German Police Conducting Operation Against Criminal Clans in 6 Cities
German police are conducting a large-scale operation against criminal clans in six cities of the country, local media reported on Saturday.
The operation began on Saturday evening in the cities of Bochum, Duisburg, Essen, Recklinghausen, Dortmund and Gelsenkirchen, according to the Rheinische Post newspaper.
As many as 1,300 police officers are involved in it, with customs officers also taking part, the publication said.
The police conduct searches, in particular, in shisha bars owned by these criminal clans, considering these places to be "hotbeds of dirty deeds." In the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, the influence of such clans is particularly strong, the newspaper noted.

US Embassy in Iraq Covers 80 Football Fields- A Behemoth From Which to Rule the Middle East
Next biggest US embassy, in Beijing, is one tenth as large. It’s 6 times larger than UN headquarters.
Why is America’s Baghdad Embassy the world’s largest embassy — and the largest by far?
"It's as if the US Embassy is there not only to protect American interests, but to manage the entire world from the heart of the capital, Baghdad.”
— Iraqi Sheikh Qassim Al Ta’ee, as quoted on 27 December 2011 in Al Iraq News and translated by Ibrahim Zaidan from the original Arabic by Nicholas Dagher
Zaidan’s article went on to say:
The world's largest embassy is situated in the Green Zone and fortified by three walls, another barrier of concrete slabs, followed by barbed wire fences and a wall of sandbags. It covers an area of 104 acres, six times larger than UN headquarters in New York and ten times larger than the new embassy Washington is building in Beijing – which is just 10 acres.
So, America's largest diplomatic mission is surrounded by high concrete walls, is painted in black, brown and grey and is completely isolated from its environment. … The United States announced several months ago that between diplomats and employees, its embassy would include 16,000 people after the pullout of US forces.
On January 1st, Will Sillitoe headlined at the Helsinki Times, "What does the US embassy in Baghdad export to Finland and dozens of other countries?” and he reported that:
More than a million kilograms of cargo were shipped from Baghdad to different parts of the world, reveals US embassies procurement documents.
Mysterious cargo shipments from the US Embassy in Baghdad to other American embassies and consulates around the world have been revealed on a Wikileaks' database. Procurement orders of US embassies are public documents, but Wikileaks put them in a searchable database making it easier to analyse.
The database displaying worldwide US embassy orders of goods and services reveals Baghdad as a postal and shipping centre for tonnes of freight.
Though military freight might be expected between the US and Iraq, records show that embassies across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, the Americas and Africa are all receiving deliveries from Baghdad too.

Turn the Tables on Jewish-Owned Media Rhetoric - a Short User’s Guide
The author is a German finance professional who specializes in the software industry. He was born and raised in Munich, Bavaria, where he currently resides. He writes on Jewish issues in the German alt-media, and is always unfailingly polite. His English is not native, but we think he does pretty well.
It is pretty evident to anyone paying attention that Jewish elites have managed to infiltrate and seize most media and narratives and are adept at framing any situation in a way to make aggressors look like victims (something Jewish thought is especially good at). Take a look at headlines around you and you will see the current invasion of Europe couched in innocent words, even words DESIGNED to elicit sympathy from clueless people living comfortable lives.
Words like "humanitarian", "rescue", "migrant", "children", "fleeing war and poverty" etc are common themes to hide boat-loads of low-IQ, violent and unassimilable young men of fighting age coming to invade Europe. The only fleeing war and poverty they are doing is fleeing war on their own failed countries and the poverty of their bank account.
If you can frame a mass-murdering psychopath as a misunderstood, tragic human with great suffering in his life while completely whitewashing and divorcing his actions from any reasonable logic, then you basically frame the people bringing him to justice as cruel and heartless to a "lost little lamb". Jewish elites have just managed to extrapolate this to an entire continent and group of people whose sole motivation is to loot, rape and conquer another society which they see, quite correctly, as weak and stupid.
“Why?” you might ask. Because most people think welfare is a stupid idea, and come from countries that reward work and punish laziness. Most Third World countries do not give you free money, food and healthcare for sitting on your behind twiddling your thumbs. It is considered very humiliating to be reduced to begging people for help.
So when these people who aren’t being rewarded for being unproductive members of their society see a welfare utopia for every Abdul, Muhammad and Kunwumbo from Africa and the rest of the world, they correctly assume that the welfare system fails to distinguish between the useful and the useless members of society.

Russia Vows Response as UK Defence Chief Issues 'Warning to Putin'
Earlier, UK Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson boasted that Britain's new fleet of F-35s served as a message to the country's "enemies", including Russia, not to "mess with" Britain.
Moscow is perplexed by the militaristic tone taken by the UK Ministry of Defence, and will respond appropriately if Russia's security is threatened, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has said.
"The statements of the Minister of Defence of Great Britain in favour of the further militarisation of British politics bring forth, at the very least, bewilderment," Zakharova said, speaking at a press conference on Friday.
"Naturally, in the event of the implementation of any measures which pose a threat to the security of Russia or that of our allies, our country reserves the right to take adequate measures in response," the spokeswoman added.
Earlier, speaking at a ceremony to announce the readiness of the Royal Air Force's new F-35 Lightning II fighters in Norfolk, Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said Britain's new fifth-gen planes sent a message to the UK's "enemies", including Russia. "It means don't mess with us, because we have the capability and we have the people, and we have the will to always defend ourselves," he said.
Asked directly if the new F-35s should make Russia 'scared', Williamson answered bluntly "Yes".
The UK invested 100 million pounds to secure its nine new F-35s as part of a wider 425 million pound program to upgrade the RAF's capabilities. Speaking at the unveiling ceremony, RAF Chief Sir Stephen Hillier boasted that the air force was "more lethal now than we have ever been," adding that the RAF was "now prepared to deploy this capability worldwide on operations, should the need arise."
Williamson said the UK was still committed to purchasing a total of 138 F-35s in the future. For now, he said, the UK has "the capability, with nine ready to fly, nine ready to fight. We look forward to expanding that number. We see it as both a defensive and offensive weapon."

The quiet threat inside ‘internet of things’ devices
As Americans increasingly buy and install smart devices in their homes, all those cheap interconnected devices create new security problems for individuals and society as a whole. The problem is compounded by businesses radically expanding the number of sensors and remote monitors it uses to manage overhead lights in corporate offices and detailed manufacturing processes in factories. Governments, too, are getting into the act – cities, especially, want to use new technologies to improve energy efficiency, reduce traffic congestion and improve water quality.
The number of these “internet of things” devices is climbing into the tens of billions. They’re creating an interconnected world with the potential to make people’s lives more enjoyable, productive, secure and efficient. But those very same devices, many of which have no real security protections, are also becoming part of what are called “botnets,” vast networks of tiny computers vulnerable to hijacking by hackers.

Why This Iraq War Veteran Has Created Panic In The Democratic Party
Hawaiian Democratic Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard's just announced 2020 presidential bid has unleashed fury from both the right and the left, but more so from within her own party, and especially from corners long focused on regime change in Syria and who generally lobby for a more muscular "boots on the ground" foreign policy from Ukraine to Syria to Afghanistan. Some pundits have already gone so far as to say "keep an eye on her finances," suggesting illegal foreign campaign funding through Damascus or Moscow.
Both neocons and liberal interventionists alike have united to slam the anti-war progressive as "Assad's mouthpiece in Washington" and an "Assad apologist" and of course there's the customary “Putin puppet” slur — the latter because as journalist Michael Tracey puts it, she "hasn't been sufficiently Russiagate-crazy for Democrats".
The former charge was regularly sounded after her early 2017 trip to Damascus to meet privately with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in a diplomatic gesture to personally investigate the West's regime change efforts and its consequences for the Syrian people. The move was slammed by fellow Congressional Democrats, who raised questions over possible violation of the Logan Act.
Funny enough as a mixed race far-left congresswoman (of American Samoan descent), Hindu, and US Army reserve officer one would think she would be lionized by the left given her "impeccable identity-politics bona fides". But her unforgivable sin? She's long made it a central goal of her political career to "end America's interventionist wars of regime change that have cost our nation trillions of dollars and thousands of lives," for which she's introduced Syria-related resolutions in Congress toward that end.
She's also accused Washington's covert regime change efforts as fueling the rise of ISIS and playing "the protective big brother of al-Qaeda and other jihadists" — a charge repeated just two days after the last nation-wide 9/11 remembrance from the house floor.
Considering that Congresswoman Gabbard herself is an Iraq war veteran and current Army reserve officer who served in the aftermath of 9/11, it's all the more powerful and rare that a sitting Congress member would make such forceful comments exposing the hypocrisy and contradictions of US policy.
She's identified the primary impetus for her 2020 candidacy as follows:
There is one main issue that is central to the rest, and that is the issue of war and peace.
No doubt, this alone will send the beltway zero skin-in-the-game armchair hawks and theorists into foaming at the mouth rants of Gabbard "endangering our national security" should she ever get anywhere close to clinching the Democratic nomination.
The neocon smear machine has already revved into high gear - something consistent on both sides of the aisle:

Welcome to the weekend!
Jeremiah 11
The Covenant Is Broken
11 This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the Lord: 2 “Listen to the terms of this covenant and tell them to the people of Judah and to those who live in Jerusalem. 3 Tell them that this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘Cursed is the one who does not obey the terms of this covenant— 4 the terms I commanded your ancestors when I brought them out of Egypt, out of the iron-smelting furnace.’ I said, ‘Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God. 5 Then I will fulfill the oath I swore to your ancestors, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey’—the land you possess today.”
I answered, “Amen, Lord.”
6 The Lord said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the towns of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem: ‘Listen to the terms of this covenant and follow them. 7 From the time I brought your ancestors up from Egypt until today, I warned them again and again, saying, “Obey me.” 8 But they did not listen or pay attention; instead, they followed the stubbornness of their evil hearts. So I brought on them all the curses of the covenant I had commanded them to follow but that they did not keep.’”
9 Then the Lord said to me, “There is a conspiracy among the people of Judah and those who live in Jerusalem. 10 They have returned to the sins of their ancestors, who refused to listen to my words. They have followed other gods to serve them. Both Israel and Judah have broken the covenant I made with their ancestors. 11 Therefore this is what the Lord says: ‘I will bring on them a disaster they cannot escape. Although they cry out to me, I will not listen to them. 12 The towns of Judah and the people of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to whom they burn incense, but they will not help them at all when disaster strikes. 13 You, Judah, have as many gods as you have towns; and the altars you have set up to burn incense to that shameful god Baal are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.’
14 “Do not pray for this people or offer any plea or petition for them, because I will not listen when they call to me in the time of their distress.
15
“What is my beloved doing in my temple
as she, with many others, works out her evil schemes?
Can consecrated meat avert your punishment?
When you engage in your wickedness,
then you rejoice.[a]”
16
The Lord called you a thriving olive tree
with fruit beautiful in form.
But with the roar of a mighty storm
he will set it on fire,
and its branches will be broken.
17 The Lord Almighty, who planted you, has decreed disaster for you, because the people of both Israel and Judah have done evil and aroused my anger by burning incense to Baal.
Plot Against Jeremiah
18 Because the Lord revealed their plot to me, I knew it, for at that time he showed me what they were doing. 19 I had been like a gentle lamb led to the slaughter; I did not realize that they had plotted against me, saying,
“Let us destroy the tree and its fruit;
let us cut him off from the land of the living,
that his name be remembered no more.”
20
But you, Lord Almighty, who judge righteously
and test the heart and mind,
let me see your vengeance on them,
for to you I have committed my cause.
21 Therefore this is what the Lord says about the people of Anathoth who are threatening to kill you, saying, “Do not prophesy in the name of the Lord or you will die by our hands”— 22 therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says: “I will punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and daughters by famine. 23 Not even a remnant will be left to them, because I will bring disaster on the people of Anathoth in the year of their punishment.”
