Was driving on black ice pulling a horse trailer when a semi flew by, and his draft sucked the trailer over into his drive wheels and shoved me forward jack knifing trailer and truck.. Wife woke up sliding sideways looking at the side of the semi, and about shit herself.

Yep. With throttle, you can still aim and hit the gas. With brakes (or even a weight shift from letting off gas), your rear end is moar likely to break loose.
