I think when you look back at the circumstances around Mueller's hiring and put two and two together, it makes sense.

 

Trump meeting with both Mueller and Rosenstein for several hours the day before Mueller is appointed? Rosenstein recommending the firing of Comey? If its true, and I were Trump, I would be so happy that everyone just overlooks this because it really puts the picture in focus as to what is going on.

 

Trump pulling off another one of his famous long cons. Mueller/Comey being pardoned long ago makes sense.
