A street artist hid $1,000 worth of Bitcoin in his latest mural.
(which includes Yellow Vests)
Though Bitcoin has only entered the public consciousness over the past few years, its Genesis block is 10 years old, and to celebrate the anniversary, Paris-based artist Pascal Boyart has created a street mural with a puzzle containing 0.26 BTC ($1,003).
The exact location of the work is unknown, though it is somewhere in central Paris. Boyart, a “crypto-inspired artist,” announced that, “In order to solve the puzzle, you must be physically in front of the mural.”
As of press time, nobody has claimed the prize. In addition to honoring Bitcoin, the fresco pays homage to Eugène Delacroix’s Liberty Leading the People (1830), featuring updated references to the Gilets Jaunes (or Yellow Vests) movement, whose members have been protesting French President Emmanuel Macron’s eco-tax on fuel and other economic policies since November.
