Democrat in the NYS Senate just spoke on a law that would allow 16 and 17 year olds to register to vote and it would take effect when they turn 18.
Then another Democrat says she supports it, but she is concerned that non-citizen students may not know that it is a felony to register to vote if you are a non-citizen and she is afraid that the non-citizen students will register to vote and then become felons when they turn 18.
Yes, she actually said this… just now on the floor of the NYS Senate.
