re: LG suggested agree to end of partial shutdown but if no deal for wall in 3 weeks then build through emergency declaration.

That brief back and forth gave POTUS opportunity to say, No, and to reiterate his determination. Created leverage (out of not much) for LG. The two were set to meet anyway so brought something out of it. Almost a good cop bad cop scene. Will be forgotten soon enough but in meantime POTUS and LG seen to be working to end shutdown.
