The clock would be just as effective as a linear table. Q's drops routinely include some of the same language over several different sections. These can line up with many different dates in many different lines.
Example:
Dark to Light has been used so many times that I'm not going to put the effort in to count each instance.
This can plot a course throughout all other drops with only a few degrees of separation.
The clock shilling has gotten out of control.
A few (you know who you are) are now building an economic model on decoding the clock for public consumption. When holes get poked in it they feel the need to prove that it works even given the logical fallacy in the model.
tl;dr - those that put so much time/energy into creating the clock are now kvetching their asses off ever since Q made mention of a 1-year [-2 day] delta.
