The obvious Y-head connection is Moloch (pics). He was often depicted as a bovine entity.

The only stag god that I could find is the celtic Cernunnos, who was depicted with antlers. He appears to be connected to the neo-pagan Horned God.

As for the gold covering, I always just assumed it had something to do with be anointed by the solar deity (Ra, etc) and/or the light of Lucifer.

>What if the multiple meanings are correlated?

I feel like they're all beating around the same bush. There's probably a major demon out there who's default form has horns of some shape and who has appeared to various cultures at various time seeking tribute. They've all interpreted it as one of several animals.

There was a New Agey painting that a shill posted here once that jumped out at me. It was like the classic Pan type entity but constructed from fractals and other mathematical objects. I wish I could find it again.
