The longer we see no sign of RGB, the more we become assured that MSM reports of her expected “recovery” are false.
Having dealt with a family member battling cancer, it is a slow and frustrating descent into progressive disability, hospice care and eventually death.
At the beginning, the mind is alert and mental engagement is a welcome distraction from the weakness and pain. As the pain increases, the increased dosages of pain meds starts robbing mental alertness and focus. Depending upon the progression and extent of the cancer, this spiral could be slow at first, but eventually it gets more rapid.
At this point, I believe RBG is alive, but I do seriously question whether she is doing any real work for any sustained period of time. Her staff is undoubtedly handling most of the load, which again, is a concern. The SC needs rules to verify the status of health impaired justices and declare them “inactive” regarding matters of the court if they are not able to work or otherwise impaired in any meaningful way.
