A typical TSA employee works about 20-30 hours a week, part time, and makes $10-$14 an hour. Last Friday, they missed their first paycheck. They are required to work unpaid indefinitely. These employees are the paycheck to paycheck kind of workers. "Who cares if I will eventually be paid?", they ask. "My creditors aren't going to wait."

They are leaving. It stared with calling in sick. Now, they are outright quitting. McDonald's is hiring. McDonald's isn't paying as much per hour, but the paychecks do arrive promptly, and the household bills are stopping.

#ATL is experiencing longer than usual wait times during peak travel. Please plan ahead and give yourself 3 hours to clear security.
