The alternative is to do your own digging and go your own way. The hive mind bullshit is just that. It's bullshit. The hive mind crap is only good when things are great. In times when it's not, it's used to keep people swinging like a dick in the wind.

You will find on this board, a narrative, a belief system, a false hope and a shit load of people sitting on their hands, or twiddling their thumbs hoping that someone else will do everything for them.
It takes time to come to and appreciate the real truth. It's not easy to swallow. It's not easy to give up what you've believed for so long, and it's not a good feeling to realize that every step deeper you go, you know that there was untruth in all the previous steps.
Notables are mostly useless, especially all the clockfag shit, and the Q posts. They come in handy if there's something newsworthy and you're looking for some quick feedback from other souls.
