I had a business colleague in New Zealand and we had weekly conference calls throughout the year.

When the US goes on daylight savings time, NZ is in the opposite season.

When the US is off daylight savings, NZ is on a shifted summer time.

These time changes occur out of sync, too.

As a result, the EST versus NZ time delta can vary as much as 2 hours throughout the year.

It will take some concerted digging to figure out if the HRC email was really in advance of the EQ or not.

The digging has to factor in not just one time zone, but what time of year it was and when summer time was in effect.

I'm not volunteering to do it because IRL obligations today.
