Has the shutdown been in the plan? Will it lead to massive RIFs ?
The other thing I like is that RIFs always have an emotional effect on the employees that remain. Do your work, follow proper procedures or you too might be subject to a RIF in the future.
If they are exceedingly careful how they do it - because lawsuits will happen in any case - they can RIF a great number of non-essential employees and after a time gradually start hiring the good ones back.
Since time in service is one of the RIF criteria, only doing a massive RIF would catch a lot of the career grifters.
My remaining question is:
Are Pelosi and Schumer being told not to negotiate so we can get the thirty day shutdown or are they clueless and cooperating out of ignorance?
