Think about this:

Trump begrudgingly signs a continuing spending resolution and says he won't do it again without full funding for the wall.

Next continuing resolution comes up, but Trump tells congressional leaders, he will veto it if his $5.7B Wall funding is not included.

Shutdown begins. Clock on non-essential furloughed government employees start.

Democrats take control of the House and Nancy Pelosi jokes she will give the President $1 for the wall.

Stalemate between House and Senate begin. House passes the previous continuing resolution but the Senate will not consider it.

POTUS tells America, "I have a plan for the shutdown." Not I have a plan to end the shutdown. He has a plan for the shutdown.

Shutdown is approaching the 30 day mark when RIF procedures must be used to permanently lower the numbers in the government work force.
