Interestingly enough I thought of something like that. You can't get a proof of life, but it seems (from a quick look) anyone can request proof of death in DC.

Unfortunately not in NY though, which is probably where she is, as far as I can tell anyway. In DC it costs $25.

I imagine the coronial inquest (or w.h.y. over there) would be a matter of record in the state where the death occurred?

And can I just say, to whom it may concern, if she is indeed dead then it is highly disrespectful to not acknowledge that and pretend she is still alive.

And personally you won't find be bad mouthing her after it is confirmed she is dead, old family superstition kek
