The ones who can't figure it out are blocked by arrogance, in some form. Jesus wants us to discern and I've always thought the nature of the Bible (and its contained "contradictions") was to create the tension required to develop discernment.

Agree with you. I think there is reading the Bible and there is living the Bible. This is where one has to seek a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and it has to be sought alone.

 

Though I don't know if I agree with the notion that it happens by accident. We'd have to define the term first.

I agree.

 

I think there was some confusion, though, about the usage of the word "secret" in the context of the Bible. Because "esotericism" is synonymous with secrets, in the context of hidden knowledge and the esoteric arts.

 

But from our conversation, it sounds to me like you are using the term "secrets" in the context of knowledge that has to be earned by means of discernment or "accident" or knowledge beyond the Bible as a book.
