The 2016 movie has some small changes from previous versions of Murder On The Orient Express. If you are familiar with Poirot, it is worth watching.
I was just enjoying it as yet another version of an Agatha Christie classic, the 4th that I have seen. But then at the end, it blatantly speaks to the audience, giving a "moral to the story" that directly concerns us. There were 12 people who collused in crime, specifically in murder, but the victim was such a despicable evil criminal, that Poirot chose to let them off and said why. You need to at least watch the ending of the film to get the full message.. He is talking about the many puppets of the Cabal, who did commit crimes under duresss, or allowed crimes to be committed, but their finally act was what RUssian call "buying off your guilt" . They provided a true service to humanity, and so they will not be charged..
For us it is easy to identify people involved with the Cabal, bujt very hard to identify those who have flipped pr those who are in fact, undercover whitehat agents.
